1.gif (3734 bytes)Thus that all the euphoric poké-fans had thought that they would have a recess, Nintendo decides to launch the new  Pokémon game: the Trading Card Game GB. Basically, it is a version for GameBoy of the popular  Pokémon card game, of the Wizards of the Coast. In it, the player controls a boy which tries to collect all cards Pokémon that exist, besides leaving in the fetching cards Legendary Pokémon.
Of course, in this fetching it will be included lots of battles through Pokémon cards, with the objective to gain medals to be able to enter in the Pokémon Dome, where the   biggest masters in  Pokémon TCG  face the Elite 4 of Pokémon cards... This plot seems familiar!

Those players who had never tried the card game in the real life will find in the2.gif (2901 bytes) GameBoy version  an excellent one pass-the-pass. For those players who had still not got used to the style in the game, Nintendo gives you the chance to test its abilities and find in the GameBoy the chance to practise before starting a battle real.
When the game starts, a map of the Trading world Card Game shows to the player the diverse Pokémon clubs that exist (eight in the total: Lightning, Water, Fire, Grass, Psychic, Science and Fightining). During this adventure, the player will be able to check its email, to change cards with other interesting charecters and to find items.

The graphics are in accordance with the maximum that could be expected of a game of this type, where battles of cards Pokémon in the GameBoy is most of the gameplay, which is quite similar to the versions Red, Blue and Yellow.
During the battles, the attacks of the Pokémon include small animations that, although they are  pleasant  you can find  them tiring. Happily, an option in the beginning of the game exists where it is possible to incapacitate the animations, magnifying the speed of the game.

3.gif (3614 bytes)The way for a player can finish the game is really fast,  when the weaknesses of each Pokémon are discovered and you just find a good deck to defeat them. However, the game wonderfully was developed to play with a friend, using the GameLink.  It is for this reason that the way for a player must be threshed of the beginning to the end: the player must acquire cards rare and strong to be able to face its friends, becoming the much more emotive two versus two battles. The lack of personality of the set of the game, gift in the other versions of Pokémon for GameBoy, is talves the biggest weak point of the game. In counterpart, it is elaborated,  besides being very easy to lead to load of that 226 cards Pokémons of truth.
