Pokémon Ranger and the Prince of the Sea: Manaphy

Synposis

The egg of the sea descends deeper and deeper as various groups of pokemon swim past him including Remoraid, Cloyster, Clamperl, Lanturn, and Chinchou. After a few moments, spotlights glisten underneath the ocean waters illuminating the magnificent egg. A few helicopters are relaying overhead scanning the egg and after confirmation relay the information back down to a submarine underwater. The Phantom Troop, submarine, begins the plan to secure the egg. Perap ascends through the atmosphere finally landing on the Captain sqwaking his words.

After the submarine moves into range, a metallic robotic arm extends out to secure the egg and returns it back to the submarine. Captain Phantom descends down into the room where the egg is located. Just as he examines the treasure and moves forward to touch the egg, a crew member manages to steal the egg. Phantom directs the crew after the thief, but he only manages to evade the group of men. The thief manages to escape into a pathway making his way to a ladder gaining access to a higher floor of the submarine. He jumps off the ladder kicking the rail buying himself more time for the evasion. The thief manages to locate the Mess Hall and makes a stop to relay with Judy, his mission coordinator to relay to her that he has obtained the mysterious egg. After a few moments, the ship crew manages to converge on his location. As the group moves forward, he evades his purseurs by knocking various kitchen tools over in the path of his purseuers. While he continues his escape, he manages to knock a sack of potatoes into the pathway buying himself even more time. The crew manages to locate him once more as he continues to evade the crew escaping to the opposite side of the submarine managing to jump over a hidden door revealing Phantom. Captain Phantom releases two solitary Monster Balls calling upon a Pinsir and Parasect. Phantom requests the thief's name and for the "treasure" to be returned. The thief reveals his identity to be Jack Walker. Jack ascends into the upper part of the submarine managing to evade Pinsir's attack. Jack reveals his capture wand and manages to capture a Mantine. Phantom demands Jack to return the egg once more, but Jack only ignores the captains request ascending from the boat and ontop of the Mantine dispersing into the ocean. Pinsir manages to launch a devasting Hyper Beam but Jack manages to gain enough distance to safely evade the attack.

Meanwhile, our heroes desperately look for a safe haven but there only exists a giant grass field and various trees that can be spotted from time to time. Max begs May for some water but after she tosses him her resovoir, he quickly finds out that her supply is depleated as well. May and Max fall towards the ground as Ash notices a sphere of water ahead. May and Max jump up but Max manages to dash off into the direction of the water. Our heroes finally catch up to the water sphere, and actually notice multiple spheres with water pokemon revealed inside. Max asks a female trainer near the water pokemon for permission for some of the water. She grants him permission and he begins gulping the water from a nearby sphere. After a few moments, a Gorebyss pushes Max knocking him away. May, Ash, and Brock finally catch up to Ash as the female trainer questions their identities. Everyone introduces themselves as Brock finally realizes the female trainer's identity and pulls out his "Book of Females" pulling up her information. "The young female's name is Hiromi, as her and her family run a circus show with water Pokemon. Pikachu escapes from the main group and comes upon Meditite, Medicham, and Poliwag. A few of the water pokemon blast water into the air as the Meditite and Medicham use their psychokenesis powers to form the sphere into a Pikachu. After a few moments, a group of people come out of a nearby trainer, question who our heroes actually are. Hiromi informs them that everyone are just aquaintences and are attempting to locate some water in their journey. The entire family introduce themselves. The magnificent mother is Minamo, the devious father is Kai, and the superannuated grandfather Ship. The family also has a mysterious clown who has joined them recently. May compliments Minamo on her youth causing her to laugh accidently smaking May on her head. Inside of their home, Max devours the glass of water he required hours ago. After a few moments, a Buoysel strides by and begins gently playing with Max. May notices that Buoysel hops up into a bed, going to the top where a canister lays. Buoysel presses a small button revealing the "Egg of the Sea". May examines the egg before Kai covers the bed with a curtain that had previously hidden the location. Hiromi invites our heroes to a complimentary show that they will be performing at the next town.

The show begins with a large ball of water created, while a Seaking and Dewgong escape inside of the sphearical object. Medicham and Meditite divide the sphere into two halfs, and afterwards Minamo and Kai assist the act by cutting in. Additional balls are created as an array of pokemon begin escaping inside of the spheres before Hiromi escapes inside and rides Dewgong to the top of the water sphere, escaping out and then jumping back inside. The clown begins walking around wearing a Sharpedo outfit. While he juggles a few balls, several Goldeen within a water sphere emerge towards him. The clown uses the costume to simulate the effect of eating the Goldeen but acts as if he has come down with some mysterious illness as the Goldeen escape into the other side. Soon all the spheres combine into one gigantic ball as Meditie and Medicham use their psychokensis abilities to evaporate the the sphere into steam ending the magnificent show.

Meanwhile, Buoysel was inside of the trailer managing to locate the container holding the egg. Buoysel examines the egg once more before it crashes over the edge of the bed. Buoysel attempts to grab the egg while also preventing himself from falling into the floor. May manages to spot Buoysel carrying the egg between the circus trailer and the oddly-designed vehicle spotting the egg once more. Meanwhile, Team Rocket observe the actions of our heroes and their new found circus aquantinances. James notices the container for a split second as the clown manages to snatch the container from Buoysel handing it to Hirmoi as she places it on a shelf and closes a curtain. As the family begins packing, our heroes are extended an offer to travel with them to the next town.

Team Rocket enjoy themselves at a fountain while Jessie and Meowth notice James reading a magazine. James mentions that the object that he saw in the maganize he noticed Buoysel had. After a few seconds, James arrives to the page with a picture of the "Egg of the Sea" and Captain Phantom. As the trailer passes by, James attempts to make a phonecall but quickly decides to catch a ride on the trailer instead.

Later in the night, Buoysel walks around the trainer and manages to locate the shelf where the container was placed. Buoysel climbs up onto the shelf and presses the button once more revealing the egg. Moonlight manages to shine through the egg causing the egg to glow red. The incandescent light shines upon May causing her to dream of an underwater environment. Within this world, various pokemon swim by her as she spots an underwater temple which appears to be surrounded by a gigantic bubble. Manaphy swims ahead of her as she screams out telling him to stop. Her dream is shattered as Hiromi is sitting nearby inviting May to a good morning. The family has managed to stop at a river for breakfast. A table is prepared by the river as our heroes enjoy the scrumptious dishes. May explains her dream to the group,, explaing that she saw a Pokemon she has never seen before and a mysterious temple underwater. Everyone else appears to be confused by the dream too until Hiromi and Minamo say that they had the same exact dream. While everyone begins preparing to begin travel once more, Jessie manages to find the egg after examining various places in the trailer. As Team Rocket converges on the egg, it begins to glow red once more as lightning streaks out. After the light disappates, Team Rocket comes under the affect of "Heart Swap". Meowth is placed in James's body, Jessie in Meowth, and James in Jessie. Ash manages to spot Team Rocket as they make their escape. They stop for the motto but soon realize its unneccesary and begin escaping in the opposite direction. Just before Ash can reach our devious villians, they manage to escape into a balloon. As the balloon begins its escape, Ash begins to direct Pikachu to launch a Thunderbolt attack but the clown directs Ash to halt. The clown reveals a Capture Wand capturing a nearby Fearow. As Fearow begins his descent, Pikachu hops aboard as the two pokemon make their ascent toward the balloon. Pikachu lands into the balloon and manages to snatch the egg and descends down landing atop Fearow. Fearow ascends into the air and strikes the balloon sending Team Rocket blasting off light a brilliant star.

Fearow gives Pikachu back to Ash, as Hiromi snatches the case before the clown shows up. Ash realizes the Capture Wand the clown used previously and acknowledges that he must be a Pokemon Ranger. The clown agrees just before removing the disguise revealing himself to be Jack Walker. Jack displays the egg to our heroes after the situation is under control. After a few moments, several helicopters arrive and after a few moments, Jack soon realizes that the helicopters are from the Phantom Troop. Jack alerts our heroes of the oncoming threat as they begin escaping into a rocky region. Phantom releases two Beedrill to assist the chase. Everyone splits up causing their persuers to have to split up with Max, Brock, Hiromi, and May taking one direction and Ash and Jack taking another path. Phantom descends from the helicopter and begins to chase after our heroes. Jack concels the container with a towel managing to escape from visibility. When our two heroes emerge, Jack escapes with the towel as Ash evades with the "real" container. Max and May manage to split up from Hirmo and Brock. Finally, Max and May cross paths with Ash, to only be revealed seconds later that one of the ship's crew had been following them with a Beedrill. Beedrill launches a devasting Pin Missle with Pikachu counterattacking with Thunderbolt. As our three heroes attempt to escape, Beedrill launches Sludge Bomb blocking the path. Ash decides to combat the Beedrill as May and Max escape with the egg. Phantom finally catches up to Jack but only comes to realize that Jack only has only two juggling balls. Jack launches one at Phantom and escapes jumping onto a boulder. Phantom soon realizes that Jack doesn't have the egg anymore and moves off to persue other victims.

May and Max soon find a split in the path as Phantom arrives and attempts to grasp the egg from May pulling on the top of the container. May continues to grasp the egg, as Max jumps onto Captain Phantom. After a few moments, the top finally gives way releasing the egg. Ash finally catches up to our heroes as the egg begins to shine red. The egg is engulfed in a bright light before finally two antennea reveal themselves and as the light gently fades away, Manaphy is revealed. Manaphy manages to open his eyes to see May and begins crying. May attempts to comfort the young pokemon but Phantom only seems disgusted that Manaphy was the "treasure" he was fighting for. Jack arrives finally managing to distract Phantom giving our heroes enough time to find the trailer. Ash, May, and Max manage to finally find the trailer taking off as everyone ponders about Manaphy. Manaphy managed to sleep in May's lap in peaceful content, but as soon as Minamo grasps onto Manaphy, he begins weeping. Minamo hands Manaphy back to May and he finally stops crying. Manaphy has managed to actually imprint May as his mother since she was the first person he saw when he was born.

Our heroes haven't successfully evaded Phantom completely, as two helicopters converge on the trailer and latch onto the back. Ship arrives soon after telling the others to get inside. May, Minamo, Brock, Hiromi, Max, and Ash all manage to escape into the car. Ship is the last to exit unlatching the trailer and causing both latched helicopters to fly backwards. The trailer careens off a cliff as the helicopters manage to slice their lines to obtain control once more. Team Rocket manages to finally wake up finding themselves located by a ruin. Jessie notes about a strange dream about everyone's bodies being switched. After a few moments, Team Rocket realizes that the egg must have had an effect causing a dream. After a few moments, the family arrives at the ruin. After our heroes exit the vehicle, the pirates soon arrive once more. Team Rocket attempts to get the crew to accept them so they will have the opportunity to steal the egg once Phantom has done all the work.

Our heroes head deep into the ruins until we reach a dead end. Ship extends his arm revealing a bracelet of shells near a mysterious gem in the wall. The gem glows appearing to be a type of lock. Ship slides the lock to the right and a door opens up. Kai questions everyone if they have a water type okemon within their possession since they will be traveling down a canal. Phantom descends into the ruins arriving at the exact dead end. Phantom pulls out a bracelet from his pocket but once he comes to the canal, soon realizes he has no mode of transportation. After escaping the ruins, Phanto spots Team Rocket washing his helicopter. He questions them of their intent, but only offer their cleaning services to him. Team Rocket manages to get the permission to be able to travel with Phantom as "cleaners".

As our heroes continue down the canal, we soon come up to another "dead end" decorated with various murals depicting a legend. Ship explains to everyone that once there existed Akussha Temple where water pokemon and people had resided and a "King of the Sea" had once lived. Once invaders had arrived, the King uses his magnificent power to protect Akusha Temple and protect it underwater in a gigantic bubble. Askusha Temple can't be normally seen but once it is time for Manaphy to return, the moon will shimmer red for a brief moment making the temple visible temporarily. Ship has formulated to lead our heroes to a port town, where a boat will be waiting to deliver Manaphy back to Akusha. Phantom attempts to locate where our heroes could have escaped to as one of his crew members attempts to map the route. He comes to realize that the path slices into multiple paths.

We finally reach the port town where they will await Ship's aquaintance to come along and deliver Manaphy to Akusha. Our heroes begin to rest and enjoy ice cream. Ship manages to finish his cone and manages to spot the ship ahead warning the others of its imminent arrival. Meanwhile, Gabu, Dabu, and Zabu, Ship's old friends, arrive to greet him. Ship introduces our heroes to his old friends and only takes Jack, Manaphy, and his family along on the expidetion to Akusha. May grows depressed but realizes that the decision was made for the better of Manaphy. Gabu, Dabu, and Zabu attempt to comfort May and encourage her to stop the boat so she could join on the expedition. Ash with his adventerous heart set, also assists in stopping the boat. Manaphy, on board, manages to wake up and begins crying. Jack attempts to calm him but Manaphy only manages to shoot a streak of red lightning colliding with Jack and flowing down the ocean travelling through May and Ash. Jack and Ash switch bodies from Manaphy's affect. Our heroes finally get the chance to join on the expedition, gaining access to the boat. Jack and Ash wonder about the expierence with both of them changing bodies mysteriously. Jack explains that Manaphy's ability is Heart Swap, causing multiple victims to temporarily change bodies. Manaphy attempts to pronounce May (Haruka)'s name but fails exciting our heroes with the fact that possibely Manaphy could speak. Max and Ash attempt to get Manaphy to speak their names but he only continues speaking his own name once more. Jack directs May to let Manaphy free into the water as they will direct him to the temple. Manaphy begins exploring underwater but manages to keep a close perimeter to the boat. Ship directs our heroes into a lower room of the boat releasing a hatch to reveal an underwater observation room. Our heroes observe Manaphy swimming underwater as he manages to spot May but crashes into the clear glass. Days being to pass while Manaphy continues following the Blue Lagoon, Ships boat, and attempts to call out to May every so often.

Our heroes finally make a stop and decide to take a brief swim. May becomes worried about Manaphy as it happily splashes on the ocean surface. Ash escapes from the cold ocean water and onto the boat coming across Jack who hands him a towel. Ash questions Jack about his original intent of becoming a Pokemon Ranger. Jack explains that when he was in youth, a blizzard rained on his homeland. He managed to find shelter in a cave, shivering in the cold. A Swablu soon arrives and Jack realizes that the cave is filled with Altaria, Sentret, Swablu, and Furret. All of the pokemon grow closer to him to keep the warmth. Morning finally arrives as the storm finally clears up and most of the pokemon begin exiting from the cave. Jake spots a flock of bird pokemon begin their ascent and begins growing curious about pokemon life. Ash becomes exluberant with Jack's story and splashes into the ocean with Buoysel.

Night has arrived upon our heroes as May sleeps outside with Manaphy. May displays her deepest caring for Manaphy telling him that she "likes" him. After a few moments, Manaphy attempts to say "like". May teachs Manaphy the correct pronunciation of "like" and soon after Manaphy learns to prononunce the phrase, "like may". Minamo and Brock prepare a meal while May walks down a hallway towards the observation room when she notices Jack conversing with Ash. Jack tells Ash that the relationship between Manaphy and May is negative. Manaphy has the role to be a leader in the sea; if he's acts the same way he does to May, it makes no leader. May manages to interrupt the conversation telling Jack that Manaphy will do an excellent job as a leader and escapes outside of the room at the exact moment that Himoni attempts to enter the room. May collapses into the floor as Manaphy attempts to get her attention. Hiromi locates May and tries to comfort her, but the relationship between May and Manaphy has matured to a point that she doesn't want to let him go. Hiromi hands May her seashell bracelet in an attempt to comfort May. Later that night, Manaphy begins singing softly attracting a group of pokemon around him.

Blue Lagoon arrives at an island but Manaphy hasn't been located yet. Ash releases his Monster Balls calling upon his pokemon to enjoy the scenary and themselves. May begins to put her bandana on but an ocean breeze catches it and propels it out into the ocean. Manaphy begins swimming towards its location as the bandana manages to get caught on a Sharpedo and falls onto a Relicanth. Evening has fallen upon our heroes as we soon realize that Manaphy hasn't arrived back to the boat yet. Another feature of the Blue Lagoon is revealed, a submarine bay. Our heroes follow Minami into the submarine as everyone else stays behind on Blue Lagoon. Phantom has finally managed to locate our heroes once more but decides to wait until they reveal Akusha. Team Rocket plot to wait until Phantom converges towards the temple to strike.

Manaphy explores the ocean floor locating May's bandana attached to Cloyster. The Cloyster comes back around and finally opens up giving Manaphy the chance to retrieve it. Manaphy grasps the bandana for a few moments and swims off back towards the location of the Blue Lagoon. Manaphy appears in glass window of the submarine. Our heroes manage to hit a current and lose control of the sub dispersing off the Blue Lagoon's sonar. The Blue Lagoon manages to spot the submarine once more and begin to head in its direction but also notice another submarine following behind. The Blue Lagoon's submarine disappears off the sonar once more. The brilliant moon begins to shimmer a magnificent red color. After a few moments, Akusha Temple is finally visible in front of Blue Lagoon's submarine. Jack suspects the submarine following their submarine to be Phantom and dives into the ocean using his Capture Wand to gain control of a Tamanta aiding him on his journey to Akusha. Manaphy leads our heroes through a corridor blocked by a waterfall. Manaphy repeats a soft tone and beings singing magnificently as Akusha repeats the same tones and several waterfalls begin to slice in two. Phantom finally arrives at Akusha. As Phantom continues into the temple, a hatch opens revealing Team Rocket who somehow managed to hide inside of the compartment. Our heroes reach a dead end with ancient writing depicted on it. Minamo notes that Ship can translate the ancient text. Phantom finally makes his appears announcing that he has the ability to translate the text. Phantom takes out a bracelet and a similar lock appears. After a few moments, a group of doors open up. Everyone follows Phantom and we soon reahch a large room with multiple pathways. A pilar sits in the middle of the room with crystals placed into it, as water flows towards the top. Manaphy begins swimming in the flow of water but Phantom removes a crystal causing the flow to disappate causing Manaphy to fall back into May's arms. Earthquakes begin erupting inside of Akusha as water erupts out of the openings. As our heroes head back for the submarine, Jack informs everyone that he will stay back and defeat Phantom. While everyone heads for the submarine, Phantom continues grasping crystals. The water in the treasure room continues climbing. Jack arrives at the treasure room gracefully evading Phantom and placing a crystal into its socket. Jack moves to place another crystal into place but a giant pillar of water emerges thrusting both into two seperate canals. Phantom ascends out into a canal and locates a crystal just before it slides into another opening.

Meanwhile, Manaphy manages to escape from May's grasp wanting to lead the two back into the temple. Ash directs Hiromi to leave but stay within the permiter incase anything happens. Manaphy leads our two heros into the temple once again. Phantom finally decides to start going in the direction of the submarine. Meanwhile, Team Rocket has already located his submarine before him and has planned to take control of it. Phantom grasps the submarine hatch with great strength and soon knocks Team Rocket into the ocean. Ash and May continue making their ways towards the treasure room as Manaphy goes ahead to recover a lost crystal. After a few moments, Ash and May begin placing the crystals back into their original positions but soon after realize that one is missing. The water level continues rising in the temple to dangerous levels. May continues towards the submarine's location but Hiromi has already escaped the temple. May locates Team Rocket's previous pod floating nearby. May, Pikachu, and Manaphy step inside to make their escape. Ash decides to finish the quest of placing the final crystal into its slot. Jack reaches the surface first attempting to find out the locations of the others. Hiromi explains that everyone is still inside of the temple even at its continual flooding rate. Ash heads back towards the treasure room but comes soon to realize that the previous path has already been flooded. After a few seconds, Ash collects what few oxygen he can gather and glides into the ocean water swimming towards the treasure room. Ash begins to run out of breath struggling to reach a patch of air. He decides to drop the crystal and rushes to the top of the treasure room in hope that it isn't completely flooded. After a few moments, Ash dives back down and collects the crystal but manages to run out of breath before reaching the top once more dropping the crystal again. Ash dives back into the ocean once more to retrieve the crystal and finally places into its original slot. A brilliant yellow begins to illuminate through the room and Akusha begins ascending from the ocean bottom. Once the temple has arrived at ocean level, May opens the pod door frantically searching for Ash. Phantom ascends from the ocean bottom and manages to grasp Manaphy while May is distracted. A brilliant yellow light soon emerges and begins pursuing Phantom. After a few moments, Ash becomes visible within the shimmering yellow light. Phantom continues his evasion but manages to run into a group of Remoraid limiting his movement. The "King of the Sea" Kyogre and multiple groups of water pokemon. Phantom prepares to launch one final attack on our heroes. Manaphy uses its telekenesis to call upon the nearby water pokemon to aid in the fight against Phantom. The water pokemon manage to short-circuit Phantom's submarine hindering any movement. Kyogre ascends from the glimmering ocean water launching a devasting Hyper Beam slicing and damanging critical components. Everyone aboard Blue Lagoon are exluberant to see our heroes returned. Columns of yellow shimmering light surround the entire family as we dive into the ocean depths giving us the ability to see the exterier of Akusha and the magnificent schools of water pokemon.

Akusha finally sinks down into the ocean depths only leaving our heroes with a memory of an everlasting adventure. May struggles to return Manaphy to its original environment but soon comes to realize that Manaphy must be returned. As Manaphy begins to make his parting, he manages to prononcuate May's name before diving into the ocean depths. Both Manaphy and Akusha disperse from view leaving our heroes with a memory of a magnificent journey.
